Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation

Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation

"foundation is like Spanx for the face"

I'm one of many, many raving beauty fans who are in complete awe with Makeup Revolution at the moment. Funnily enough, when I first started my Beauty Instagram  in 2016, I purchased the Fortune Favours the Brave palette by them which at the time was being raved about... and rightly so! It's crazy how much the brand has progressed with the quality and production of their products, where now there is even a PRO range just released (I cannot wait to try), it shows how hard work and listening to what people want can lead to major success.

Back to the makeup... after the more than successful Conceal & Define concealer going head to head with the renowned Tarte Shape Tape, a foundation was much needed from the brand. Here it is, the Fast Base stick foundation. This foundation stick has a lovely packaging, a pale matte pink shell with rose gold detailing which looks so luxurious, and it does only have 6.2g product compared to the likes of ABH stick, which has 9.1g. However, it is really compact and I think it is a perfect size for an everyday, on the go foundation.

The shade range is really impressive with 18 different shades, with different undertones. I'm a lover of a yellow based foundation (warm tone), I much prefer this rather than a pink (cool tone), so I opted for one of the warmer shades in the collection F6, which is a perfect match for my skin and blends extremely well with my C2 and C4 concealers.

When I first applied to product, I was so surprised how it glided on the skin. With many stick foundations I feel as though all my flaws are almost 'dragged' up by product, leaving an uneven texture from the get go, but not with this! I felt as though going in with a damp beauty blender might not have given the foundation a chance to show its full potential, and so I opted for a soft but dense B02 Spectrum Brush which blended the foundation out beautifully and so quickly. The finish to me seems semi-matte, with a nice glow rather than being dewy which I think works perfectly for my Dry/Combination skin. I didn't feel like the foundation settled into any fine lines or feel uncomfortable, I feel like it kept the healthy glow even when the whole face was applied which I loved! I do find throughout the day, the foundation can slide around slightly, but if you are like me who powders throughout the day anyway that won't be a problem. My only worry would be for those with oilier skin, where I feel this may not be very long lasting for you.

After a few go's of the foundation using different face and powder products, I do really love this foundation. It is the perfect foundation for that healthy coverage, where some freckles do show through, but a beautiful complexion none the less and with it being so quick and easy to use, it is ideal for those days where you are on the go or travelling. FAST BASE, you have my vote!

What do you guys think of it?!

Lots of Love, Megan xo
