Holy Grail: Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
the only powder you'll ever need
I lived for MAC MSF powder in Medium for 2 whole years... setting under my eyes, setting my whole face, setting my eye lids, you name it! Then times changed and BAKING hit YouTube hard. Loose powders didn't really appeal to me back then, they just seemed messy and hard to use, but when a trend in the beauty world hits, you can't ignore it. So I tried out baking. At first, I tried it with just pressed powders, but picking up INTENSE amounts and plastering it under my eyes. Looking back now, I should've expected the dry, cracked, gargoyle like under eyes I got... but I was young (haha that is my excuse, although it was only a few months back).
I decided to get a cheap Loose Powder to try out first before splurging, so the first place I looked was the Collection aisle at Superdrug. There it was, £4 Loose Powder and I thought I'd hit the jackpot with the 'any loose powder will work' attitude. Boy was I wrong, it automatically stuck to all the creases under my eyes, stayed so cakey and turned me a weird shade of Simpson... not the desired look.
After my second baking failure, I knew something was wrong with it, and all the beauty guru's were using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder for a reason. Although the price of it was high for a powder, my Sephora order was already nearing $100 so I thought why not?! Its only an extra $38 (only...).
On arrival, I threw on some True Match Foundation and a swipe of Urban Decay Weightless Concealer and dipped my Real Techniques Sponge into the LM Powder. I dabbed it under my eyes, quite soon after applying concealer, and applied it in a sort of moon shape from the under eyes to my cheek bones. After about 3 minutes, I sweeped off the excess and couldn't believe my eyes. PERFECT, CREASELESS UNDER EYES!
-The powder is transluscent, so doesn't alter the shade of foundation which is hard to find.
-The under eyes after baking with this powder look so flawless, there's no creases or patches.
-The texture of the skin is so smooth as it sets the concealer in place.
-I have an oily T-zone and this completely balances out the oils and keeps it matte all day.
-It allows the natural radiance of the skin to shine through.
-It honestly lasts, for well over 12 hours with no cracks in the powder.
-It makes for a perfect all over powder too, as well as for baking.
If anyone has tried the Laura Mercier Powder, let me know what you think of it down below! I am in LOVE with this powder, and I can definitely say it is one of my Holy Grails that I'll buy time and time again...it is so worth its price tag.
