Secrets to Sleek, Smooth and Shiny Hair
invest in your hair
Having bleached hair is never easy. The dreaded spikes when your hair is tied up, an the terrible split ends and damaged hair, just isn't ideal to be honest. During my bleaching process, I did continue using my usual hair products, but I think I kind of defeated their purpose by using peroxide and killing half of it. No spray or oil can fix that.
Now, being brunette, my hair is recovering from the damage and the benefits from my hair products are finally starting to show through. It is still really short and thin naturally, but my clip in extensions can help with that until its healthy enough to wear alone.
I feel like my hair routine (that I LIVE by) is so easy, and doesn't take too much effort to get the desired looks. My hair recently has been looking very sleek and shiny, and much softer in appearance and feel, so I thought it'd only be right if I let you all know what products I am using and how I use them.
So, the shampoo and conditioner I use is the L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Duo. When I use the shampoo and conditioner together, my hair feels like I've had my hair washed and blown professionally. The shine is so intense, and my hair feels much thicker and healthier since I've been using it. It claims to thicken hair fibres, which I can honestly say I believe in. Also, less of my hair comes out during after shower brushing compared to lots of dead hair that used to fall out.
After showering, I spray my all of my hair generously with my Argan Oil Heat Defence Spray (it is only £1!!!). This is a lightweight spray that smells a-mazing. It soaks in to the hair fast, and somehow makes brushing my hair so much easier (almost like a spray in conditioner). I try not damage my hair even more, but as I do use heat on it, I feel like I have to protect it. This spray does just that, my hair if anything has gotten better, using the same amount of heat too.
Arganix Argan Oil is my Holy Grail hair product of all time. I have sworn by it for almost 2 years now, and used it throughout my bleaching days and my hair remained in as good condition as it could. This product is the best of its kind. I have used numerous 'Argan Oils' that are actually thick greasy oils, that stay on your hair meaning you have to wash it again 5 minutes later. This is the ONLY Argan Oil that actually absorbs in to your hair, soaking in to the fibres, and leaving the hair beautifully soft and shiny and feeling much healthier. I use a 2p sized amount of this, and rub it throughout all of my hair, starting at the ends, and working up to the roots. And you're left with perfect hair, so if you're going to buy one product from this post... let it be this one!
I blow dry my hair usually with the Vidal Sassoon hydra gloss hair dryer if I'm in a rush or not going anywhere fancy. Although, if I am, I love to use my Babyliss Curling Roller Brush which gives a salon blow finish... it just requires an extra half hour. Every girl knows the dread of drying hair, so justify it by sitting in a towel post-shower for 40 minutes before finally having to dry it. The hydra gloss hair dryer is very powerful, and dries my hair within 10 minutes... which is amazing. It always leaves my hair smooth and shiny with no fly aways, making straightening a lot easier.
As well as these products, I've also been taking Hair Burst which are food supplement tablets, packed with essential vitamins and necessary nutrients vital for hair growth. My hair has grown significantly and thickened whilst taking these, and I'm about to purchase another 3 months supply... so I will take a before and after picture, and do a blog post in a month or so, showing the progress of my hair!
Hopefully some of these products will be helpful for you, if you're looking to improve your hair. They all came in handy for me, and my hair is finally healthy and growing! If you know of any other hair products that I should try, please comment below, I always want to try new products!
Lots of Love, Megan xo
