MAC Blue Brown Pigment
two gorgeous shades in one...
I have always been a massive fan of MAC cosmetics, however it was mainly their face and lip products that appealed to me. Strobe cream and Studio Fix Fluid, are among my MAC favourites! This was, until I set my eyes upon the MAC pigments. A close friend of mine had Vanilla pigment and raved about it, and so I decided to look at the range, which is how I found the beautiful creation that is Blue Brown duo-chrome pigment.
So the difference between normal eye shadows and pigments, is that pigments are highly concentrated loose powders, that have adhering qualities to help them glide and stay on the skin. Pigments really are what they say they are, PIGMENTED. They can be applied sparingly for a wash of colour, or packed on (what I love doing) to create a foiled, intense lid.
Out of the 45 shades of pigment, Blue Brown is by far my favourite. Applying as a warm coppery brown, but reflecting beautiful blue/emerald shades makes it stunning for a night time dreamy look. The tiny particles of the pigment blend out so smoothly, and any colour seems to complement the emerald brown. I usually go in the outer v with MUG Corrupt shadow, to deepen the eye for a dark dramatic look, or just simply blend out the edges with any old deep brown shadow for a more subtle look. You could honestly pair any colour with this pigment and make it work... even a bright pink! The best part about the pigment, it doesn't cake up. I use the Morphe M170-4SH Brush to pack on the colour, because it is synthetic and petite, so manages to maximise the product it picks up as well as depositing, and is small enough to apply in all the right places.
If you're bored of the usual warm browns, and matte shades, you definitely need to take a look into MAC Pigments (especially Blue Brown) because they completely change a whole makeup look with their beauty.
