Time To Tone!
Time to get my summer body in order...
I am NOT a fitness or healthy eating person. I absolutely HATE vegetables, I LOVE chocolate, and I'd much prefer to sit and binge on Geordie Shore with Doritos and sweets... but I've done that for way too long. I was always sporty at school, but my laziness took over at Sixth Form and especially University. So, last week I decided to join a gym and start a healthy eating plan.
The gym I opted for was The Gym Group, which has branches across the country, for just £12.99 per month with no joining fee from NUS- always a bonus! The gym is over three floors and is fully equipped; from rowing machines and treadmills to ab rollers and a huge weights room, overlooking the beautiful Albert Dock of Liverpool. Getting back into the gym was hard work but my dream body isn't going to magically appear. Losing weight is only a minor aim for me, more importantly, I want to tone up and build some muscle.
To supplement my exercising, I ordered myself some diet whey protein from The Protein Works, 1kg (40 servings) and a shaker for just £25 with a 15% discount from NUS, yet again helping me out. I also done a mini health shop for myself at Tesco, and bought some greens (my favourite obviously), salmon and other low calorie/high protein bits to reduce my intake while still giving my body the nutrients it needs. I've been doin alternate days at the gym, mixing up arm weights, ab workouts and cardio to get my overall desired look. My days of rest are perfect to let my muscles recover!
Up to now, it is going good and hopefully I can keep this going and not be tempted by KFC or McDonald’s… which is what usually happens!
