Top 3 Make-up Removers

Top 3 Make-up Removers

Tired of baby wipes? Look no further...

Surely I'm not the only person, who DREADS the end of the day, the moment that perfect face of make-up must come off. After years of being lazy, and reaching for Huggies 'pure' baby wipes, I thought it was about time I ventured into a more skin-friendly method of make-up removal. Yes.. Baby wipes are quick and easy, but I found with wipes, my skin started to drag and was left feeling lifeless and dry.

In my quest to find the perfect make-up remover, I stumbled upon 3 that struck my fancy:

  1.  Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (125 ml/400 ml £1.00/£4.99 at Boots)
When Garnier launched its first Micellar technology formula, there was a lot of talk about it in the industry. At first glance, I thought "it's water, how could that work?", but it is so much more than water. The cleansing agents contained, 'capture' and strip away any make-up or dirt from the skin, leaving it make-up free, cleansed and refreshed. With one swipe, the whole layer of my foundation is removed. This product is remarkable, and leaves my face perfectly clean and supple.

Tips for application: cotton wool ball/pad and a small squirt of product, swiped across any area needed.

  2. No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm (Dry/Very Dry 150 ml £9.50 at Boots)
A few months ago, I went through a bad flare up of facial psoriasis and absolutely nothing was helping. Using baby wipes was aggravating my skin to the point where I needed a miracle to soothe it. I then discovered No7 Beautiful Skin range in Boots (on the 3 for 2 offer obviously!). I was a newcomer to No7 products, but the Cleansing balm is suited to dry/very dry skin, so I thought I'd give it a shot, as at that moment I was very dry. The balm is very creamy and gentle, dissolving make-up or dirt in a instant. The skin is left feeling so soft and moisturised with a perfect glow. This cleansing balm literally transformed my skin, and my psoriasis rapidly diminished following use of this product.

Tips for application: massage a small amount over the skin well, and gently wipe off using a cotton ball or pad.

  3. No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-up Remover (30 ml)
At Christmas time, I received the No7 Beautiful Eyes gift set, which contained this eye make-up remover. We are all aware of the struggle and effort of removing mascara, yet I'd never thought of buying myself an eye make-up remover. This product really surprised me. With just a few drops, the eyes are stripped of mascara and left fresh and clean, with no sensitivity. A lot of people find the formula very oily, however I find it absorbs into my skin beautifully, leaving my eye area very soft and smooth.

Tips for application: a few drops on a cotton pad and gently massage over closed eyes.

A lot of make-up removers I've tried, leave my skin feeling oily/greasy, forcing me to rinse which in my opinion defeats the purpose of a make-up remover. However with these 3 products, make-up is removed efficiently and the skin left feeling clean, hydrated, and ready for bed. What more could you want?!

If any of you have tried these products, I'd love know what you think of them so please leave a comment below!

Lots of love, Megan xo
