The Liebster Award 2016!
discover new blogs...
I'm not going to lie, I'd never heard of the Liebster Award... in fact, I never imagined for one second that there would be an award for Blogging, but there is! I found out about the awards when I was NOMINATED by the lovely Lexi from life0flexi . The awards are great way to discover new bloggers that you've never came across before, and give people recognition for their work. Liebster in German, means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, kind, pleasant, valued, endearing, and welcome, so the award is purely for supporting and connecting with the blogging community.
Life 0f Lexi blogs about all things lifestyle. From baking and fashion ideas, to makeup and her adventures. We follow each other on Instagram too, so I love looking out for her posts... you can follow her here. I am so grateful for my nomination, I was so nervous before I started blogging because I didn't know what reactions I was going to get, but so far they've all been amazing and I'm so glad Lexi loves my blog, as I do hers!
Part of the nomination process, entails answering questions given by the nominator... so here we go:
Q1) Tell me about the most awkward encounter you’ve had with a stranger.
When I was younger, there was a family friend who I'd never met (stranger) and I was being a lovely polite child offering everyone a cup of tea at a family party one time, and the stranger didn't seem to respond. So after repeating myself "do you want milk or sugar?" more than 7 times, I walked away furiously, complaining that the stranger was just ignoring me being rude... it turned out, the lady was actually deaf and didn't know what on earth I was saying. I felt rather guilty for the rest of the day...
Q2) What made you want to start blogging?
I've been watching beauty and lifestyle videos on YouTube, and reading blog page after blog page for the last 5/6 years, and I posted enough photos on Instagram for everyone to know how much I loved the beauty world... so eventually I thought to myself, and after some encouragement from friends and family, why don't I start my own and speak about what I love? I believed in myself after having some doubts, and it's gone great up to now so I'm so grateful for all the support I've received!
Q3) Where have you ALWAYS wanted to travel?
The place I wanted to visit with all my heart, was Los Angeles and I was lucky enough to actually go in 2014. I have never had a trip like it in my lifetime... flying from Liverpool, England to Los Angeles, California, then onto Orlando, Florida was an unforgettable trip and besides wanting to do that all over AGAIN... I'd love to visit Bora Bora (or anywhere in the Polynesian Islands for that matter). Sun, a bright turqoise sea, and over the water bungalows are just some of the things that make Bora Bora one of my must-go luxury places on earth!
Q4) What’s your favorite Disney movie, why? Or do you hate Disney movies????
I was never really a Disney child, but... I do have two faves. First is Lion King of course and second, although its not like the original Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty, it'll always remain one of my favourite films!
Q5) If you could go out to lunch with anyone in the world (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
This is a hard one... and because I'm torn between two, I'm gonna do one for dead and one for alive.
Dead- Heath Ledger
Heath was one of the most talented the world saw, and he was gone way too early for us to even see his prime. I love movies and actors, so to get to spend lunch with such a person would be an honour. And, he was beautiful, who wouldn't want to?!
Alive- Tom Hardy
The love of my life... Mr Hardy. There's not one of his films that I haven't seen so you could probably call it an unhealthy obsession... but just imagine eating lunch with such a beautiful specimen. After seeing interviews and videos with fans, he's just so down to earth so it would never get boring!
Q6) Who is your role model? Someone you look up to, someone who inspires you, motivates you.
My role model(s) , has always been my mum and dad. They're amazing people, and they've had a great life and are happy and being happy is the most important thing, so to be able to be as happy as them when I'm older would be a privilege. They've always helped me and supported me through everything, and inspired me to work my socks off to get where I want to be, and that's exactly what I'm doing!
Q7) What is your favourite food? like something you could eat for a whole year and still not get sick of.
Ribeye steak. I don't think I've tasted anything quite like a Medium-Well Ribeye, so feed me that and I'd be a happy girl.
Q8) What would be your ideal date?
If I was to go all out on this question, it'd require my date to be a millionaire which is quite unlikely... so I'll be more realistic. I think the perfect date, is going out for a nice romantic meal, having a few cocktails and maybe see a movie... who doesn't want nachos and hot cheese dip and a film! Simplicity is key.
Q9) What is something you have learned about yourself while blogging?
I've learned that I need to believe in myself more, as I said before I started properly, I was unsure whether to go through with it or not, but I finally said to myself I can do it, and so I did.. and I'm proud of what I've produced on Forever Meg xo and I hope I continue to grow as a blog, and as a person.
Q10) For Breakfast do you prefer bacon or sausage?
I am a real meat lover, so as long as there's meat available I don't care... but if I had to choose it'd have to be sausage. Nothing beats sausage on toast, with HP brown sauce and a cup of tea.
Q11) If you could have one accent for a day, what accent would it be?
I think this would definitely have to be Scottish... I pride myself on my ability to do good accents, I nail Irish, American, Australian, but Scottish is always the one that fails me. I'd love to be able to say more than "Scottish" in a Scottish accent!
